Designed by Sweden-based American designer Shane Schneck, the Tamoto Bed is a multifunctional bed designed to fulfill the needs of a modern lifestyle. Inspired by the draping quality of Japanese Kimono sleeves, Tamoto comprises innovatively folded fabric over the headboard and a steel tubing frame with a zipper and velcro finish.
The soft, draped headboard is counterbalanced by the generously dimensioned steel tubing frame, creating a contemporary and comfortable bed-sofa hybrid that can be used for sleeping, reading, working or watching TV. The removable headboard is easy to clean and a 20mm padded foam provides soft support to lean against. The clever construction allows for simple and quick self-assembly and a lower environmental impact through efficient shipping.
Constructed from a powder-coated steel frame, birch plywood slats and an optional OEKO-TEX-certified polyurethane foam mattress with a memory foam top, the Tamoto Bed is a complete sleeping solution in two boxes (three including the mattress). The Tamoto's uncluttered aesthetics and modest expression make it easy to integrate into most bedroom styles and decor.
The Tamoto Bed is available in two different sizes and a variety of colours and fabric options. We recommend using a HAY 'Standard Mattress' with the Tamoto Bed for the perfect fit and comfort.
