Designed by the legendary Danish designer Piet Hein and the Swedish designer Bruno Mathsson in 1968, the Fritz Hansen table series includes the Superellipse, Supercircular, Circular, and Rectangular tables, all iconic and classic timeless pieces. The Superellipse table was inspired by designer Piet Hein’s solution to a traffic problem at Sergels Torg in Stockholm: a super elliptical roundabout.
Constructed from a clear-lacquered walnut veneer tabletop with a veneer edge and a steel base, the table design is characterised by its unique superellipse shape, which combines elements of an ellipse and a rectangle, creating a distinctive and elegant appearance.

The veneer tabletop is available in one finish: Walnut Veneer. The laminate tabletop comes in six finishes: White, Black, Grey, Grey Efeso, Grey Bromo, and Brown Ottawa. The base is available in seven finishes: chromed steel, or powder-coated steel in White, Nine Grey, Black, Silver Grey, Warm Graphite, and Brown Bronze. Non-standard configurations are available upon request. Please get in touch for a bespoke quote if you would like a tabletop and base combination that is not available online.
