After reinventing the box over 15 years ago with the Stacked Shelving System, JDS Architects and Muuto revitalised and improved the design in 2018 with Stacked 2.0. In the updated version the Ash veneer finish has been replaced by Oak and the grey tone has been altered to complement newer Muuto designs. Green Brown was added as a colour option in 2024.
The Stacked system by JDS Architects provides a storage solution with infinite potential: You can arrange the generic building blocks as you see fit to quickly create shelf systems, room dividers, audio/visual units or even tables. The modules are available in three sizes which come in either white, brown green, grey or an oak veneer finish. Each module can either have a solid back or be open. Also available are a free-standing base, podium, or plinth to elevate your unit, and a module with a door panel for creating a more minimal look.
The Top Plate creates a smooth surface when placed on top of a setup, eliminating visible gaps between stacked modules. Also, an internal shelf can be easily added to the medium and large modules with doors, making the internal space height adjustable and the system more practical. The modular nature of this product means that Stacked can adapt and grow with you as your life changes. If you move somewhere bigger you can add to it, if you move somewhere more spatially awkward, you can reconfigure it to fit!

Materials/Construction
Every module is cut from MDF, glued together and then finished with three layers of PU lacquer paint or an oak veneer.
Clips - Powder coated steel in a matching colour of the module. Oak modules have light grey clips provided.
