Bruno Rey
Bruno Rey was born in 1933 Brugg, Switzerland. After an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker, he studied at the Zurich School of Applied Arts, where he attended classes with the pioneering designer Willy Guhl. He opened his own studio in 1968, working on an innovative chair design that was mass produced in 1971 by Dietiker in Stein am Rhein. 3300 as the chair was originally called, later became known as Rey, the most successful Swiss chair of all time. HAY has collaborated with Dietiker to present the Rey Collection by Bruno Rey, comprising the Rey Chair, Rey Stool and Bar Stool, and Rey Table and Coffee Table.
