The Palissade Dining Chair is a practical and comfortable chair for enjoying Summer evenings dining outdoors. The large gaps in the surfaces allow surface water to drain effectively, so minimal maintenance is required. This dining chair is also stackable up to 8 pieces high, making compact Winter storage simple.
Created by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for HAY, Palissade grew from a period of research at their studio into outdoor furniture typologies. The collection is visually light yet reassuringly strong. Combining archetypal furniture references and simplicity in form, HAY have produced an instant classic.
Each individual piece has been carefully engineered to hold the body in perfect balance. There are almost imperceptible, but significant changes to the angles, curves and the juxtaposition between the frame and slats in each different typology. The design itself provides comfort and elegance, while the colour palette of light grey, anthracite and olive allow the pieces to be at home in both natural landscapes and urban settings. A 'hot galvanised' finish was introduced in 2019 for an industrial aesthetic and the most weatherproof finish possible.
Palissade is intended to be used over a long period of time and become more beautiful through the years. The collection is suited to a wide variety of environments, from cafés and restaurants to gardens, terraces and balconies.
