Outline by Muuto is a sofa series that references the sophisticated clean lines of Mid-Century furniture but brings the design up to date with generous modern dimensions and high comfort. With slim armrests and a slender back, the space for sitting is maximised. The depth of the seat is plentiful and the reduced width of the sofa will allow for the 3 seater variant to almost fit in the same space as some typical 2-seater sofas.
Visually light and elegant Outline is equally at home placed mid-room as it is against a wall. The discreet legs are set back from the base edge, giving the sofa a hovering, almost weightless look - which will complement, rather than dominate an interior space. Internally constructed with plywood and steel with a sprung seating area, the outline is astonishingly comfortable for such a minimal design. Upholstered with foam and feathers before chosen textile or leather is applied. All cushions are hand sewn and filled with a combination of duck feathers and granulated cold foam. The covers are removable in case you should ever need to wash or replace them. Available in various textiles from Kvadrat/Sahco and in Silk leather from Camo Leathers.
Andersson & Voll on the design of the Outline sofa: “With Outline, we aimed to create a visually light and elegant sofa with lots of comfort. We wanted to translate some of the elemental and poetic qualities we find inspiring in modernistic architecture. The way some elements juxtapose in the sofa’s design are borrowed from the way houses are structured. The different planes overlap and give lightness to the sofa’s expression. This is why Outline has a certain calm serenity - it offers great comfort in a generous seat, but has a slender appearance, and a strong architectural presence.”

The Outline Sofa is supplied in a single box with the legs detached for safety and manoeuvrability in transit. Simple fixings and tools are provided to connect the legs to the sofa.

Choose from a black powder coated aluminium, or solid polished aluminium base.
Steel construction with plywood elements and a sprung seating area. Cushions with cold foam filling and removable covers.
