Isamu Noguchi's Dining Table from Vitra is one of the most elegant dining tables in the history of 20th-century furniture design. Initially conceived as a rocking stool, Isamu Noguchi's playful design caught the attention of Hans Knoll who thought it a perfect complement to the Bertoia wire collection. At the suggestion of Hans Knoll, Noguchi adapted the stool into a small table in 1954 and a full-size dining table in 1957. Collaborating with Noguchi Foundation, the design is reproduced by Vitra using Noguchi's original drawings.
Constructed from a hard-laminated plywood surface and cast iron base with chrome-plated steel wire, the table presents a delicate aesthetic which is engineered to last many lifetimes. The chrome-plated rods connect to a cast iron base ring to add stability and support, but without appearing heavy.
With the Noguchi Dining Table you can make an impactful impression on your home and own a little engineering marvel to keep forever.
