The collection features stacking chairs in various recycled materials and an aluminium collection for heavy-duty environments.
The 1 Inch Aluminium Frame taps into Emeco's heritage in hand crafting recycled aluminium, leveraging its signature strength, lightweight attributes and sustainability to create a versatile family of seats. With 1 inch series, the frame of each chair is handcrafted using Emeco's 77-step process - a technique that has been used to produce the original 1006 Navy Chair since 1944.
Jasper Morrison developed the frame that uses only a one-inch profile throughout. This square extruded aluminium tube has the best strength-to-weight ratio possible to let the chair use the least amount of material whilst providing the maximum amount of strength. When used outdoors, the circular apertures in the seat and back drain the rainwater and allow wind to blow through. Each hole is slightly contoured adding additional strength while reducing overall weight. The 1 Inch All Aluminium Chair is a lightweight, timeless and remarkably sturdy piece of furniture.
