The Organic Sheep

Organic sheep are born in Iceland's natural wilderness, roaming freely with no human contact during their lives. The wool's unusual and unique character is the result of centuries of adaptation to the harsh Icelandic climate. The long hair protects the sheep's skin from moisture while the short hair keeps the animal warm.

Since white wool is best suited for colouration - natural colour shades have been bred away most other places in the world. In Iceland, sheep are used mainly as a meat source and not really for fashion. Because of this the colours of their sheep have been allowed to remain as nature intended.

All sheepskins from the The Organic Sheep company are by-products from food production and hides are prepared in an environmentally sustainable tannery.
